New York Resident Charged After Striking Police Cruiser

Two Elmwood Park police officers escaped serious injury when their police cruiser was rear-ended by an alleged intoxicated New York resident.  The Asbury Park Press reports that Mahopac, New York resident was charged with DWI, eluding and two counts of assault by auto after allegedly leaving the scene after striking the police cruiser.

High School Baseball Player dies in a tragic accident

The Asbury Park Press reports that a 17 year-old Jackson resident died as the result of a two car motor vehicle accident on Route 37 in Lakehurst, New Jersey.  Two other teens and the driver of the other vehicle were injured in the accident.  All three teens were members of the Jackson Memorial High School baseball team.

The Asbury Park Press reports that a 25 year-old Seagirt man was charged with driving while intoxicated and assault by auto after striking the rear of a 56 year-old Lake Como resident on Route 138, near Route 34 in Wall township.  The 56 year-old Lake Como resident lost control of his vehicle and subsequently rolled over before coming to a stop.
